Yoyo Unboxing – YoyoRecreation Diffusion

In this video I unboxed the YoyoRecreation Diffusion.

When I first pulled the yoyo out of the box, the plastic is not like any other plastic yoyo that I’ve owned before. I felt like a piece of furniture. The yoyo also had a string on it ready to cut to my own height, that’s a plus!!! When I first threw the yoyo, it had a tiny bit of vibration and wasn’t that good for finger grinds because of the bulgy shape, similar to the YoyoFactory Replay Pro and The YoyoFactory Aviator 1 and 2. Although, it can do finger spins pretty well because of the gift concave space on the face of the yoyo.

I was a little disappointed with the limited ability to grind, but the playability totally made up for that!!! The yoyo hit my tricks pretty well and overall it is a fun yoyo and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new.

Throw Score Ep#9 – YOYOFFICER Yacare

This episode of Throw Score Yoyo Reviews is on the YOYOFFICER YACARE.

After playing with the YOYOFFICER Yacare for a week, it has quickly become one of my favorite throws.  This yoyo is designed to be speedy and flawless at finger spins.  It is super smooth with a glossy finish that almost feels like it is bead blasted.  The throw is light and the shape is angular which makes it great for speed and horizontal tricks as well.

Best of all is the value you get from this yoyo.  The price is about $40 but the yoyo quality and playability is well above its price range.

If your play style is speedy and you do a lot of horizontal tricks, including finger spins, you will be happy with this awesome throw from YOYOFFICER.

Yoyo Unboxing – CLYW Kayak

In this video, I unboxed Yuuki Spencer’s new signature yoyo the CLYW Kayak

CLYW Kayak at yoyobestbuy.com

So right out of the box this yoyo is dead smooth. on a scale of 1-10 of smoothness, it is a 20!!! Finger Grinds, not a problem. Talon Grinds, easy. Thumb Grinds, gimme a break. The only finger grind that is a little difficult is the horizontal finger grind. Even though there is a dimple in the center of the face, that whole section is elevated upward, when you do a finger spin, your finger will land on the side of the ledge. So finger spins on this yoyo are doable, but they’re not great.

This yoyo leans more to the stable and heavy side as opposed to floaty and light yoyos. Due to the yoyo’s zero wall, it really difficult to do speed combos and horizontal combos with. Techy style on the other hand is not a problem. If you watch Yuuki Spencer’s tricks and combos, he doesn’t do too much speed or horizontal, however he does do a lot of techy tricks that are at a normal speed. So you play like that, then this yoyo is right for you!!! Some other players that play tech at a normal speed – Zach Gormley, Harrizon Lee

Now here is the unboxing of the Caribou Lodge Kayak –

Yoyo Unboxing – MagicYoyo Carpfin

Okay guys we are going through this cycle again because I have received six new yoyos from yoyobesbuy and I’m ready to start unboxing and reviewing these!!! In this unboxing I unboxed the new MagicYoyo Carpfin.

When I first took the yoyo out of the package I immediately noticed that there was some weight to the yoyo. I also noticed that the face of the yoyo looked just like the face of the YoyoFactory Shutter. When I first threw the yoyo, it was dead smooth. While playing with the yoyo, it is more on the heavier side. Even though I can keep a constant pace while doing tricks, it doesn’t carry out speed combos that well, because of the weight. I think that this yoyo was designed to do techy tricks at a constant pace, sort of similar to the styles of Yuuki Spencer and Zach Gormley.

Grinds on this yoyo are fine. The only grinds that I had trouble with were inner cup grinds for example talon and thumb grinds. The reason I had trouble with those was because the inner cup was glossy as opposed to the rest of the yoyo which is bead blasted. Since it is glossy, if you grab the inner cup with your skin, the yoyo will whirl around. I recommend that if you are going to to inner cup grinds then use mostly your fingernails so that the metal won’t snag on your fingers. horizontal finger grinds are okay because you already mostly use your fingernail when you do a finger spin.

The MagicYoyo Carpfin is a good yoyo for a player that does techy style tricks at a normal pace. Grinds are okay as long as you use mostly fingernail while doing inner cup grinds. Overall, I highly recommend this yoyo.

Throw Score Yoyo Review Ep#2 – C3YoyoDesign Gamma Crash

I have had the C3YoyoDesign Gamma Crash for few weeks now and I really am very impressed by this Yoyo.  Since the unboxing I given this Yoyo major play.  And I am still impressed by it since day one. It is a plastic yo-yo in the middle with stainless steel rims that you usually find on bi-metal yoyos. But if you did not know it is plastic, you would think it is metal because it plays and feels like a metal yoyo.

As I mentioned in the first Throw Score review, this review is completely different from what you are used to seeing. The approach is from a yoyoer’s point of view.  I came up with categories to rate a yoyo from what yoyo players are looking to get from a yoyo.  The categories are described below.  Each category has a score from 1 – 5. The higher the score the better except for Weight Feel, which the lower number represents a lighter feel and the higher number a heavier feel.  As an enhancement to the scoring, category 5, Style of play is now scored.  Details are below.

Here are the categories:

1. Smoothness – How smoothe the yoyo spins (Score 1-5).
2. Weight Feel – How heavy does the yoyo feel in your hand while at play (Score 1-5, light to heavy feel).
3. Grinding Ability – How well can the yoyo carries out yoyo grinding tricks. The score is composed of three subcategories, Finger Grinds, Talon Grinds and Finger spins. All of which have a score of 1-5 which are added for a combined score of 1-15.
4. Horrizontal Play – How well the yoyo carries out horrizontal tricks or combos (Score 1-5).
5. Style of Play – What kind of combos of tricks the yoyo is more likely suited.  The score is composed of two subcategories, Speed and Techy.  These two are now scored 1-5 which are added for a combined score of 1-10.

To summarize the scores, I took categories 1,3,4 and 5 and added the scores together and divided them by 5. This average number represents a score of the yoyo itself, which we will call the Throw Score.

Check out the yoyo review video and let me know what you think about the C3YoyoDesign Gamma Crash.
