Throw Score Yoyo Review Ep#14 – TopYo Colossusiii

In this episode of Throw Score I reviewed the TopYo Colossusiii.

After playing with this yoyo, I have come to the conclusion that it is the most floaty yoyo that I have ever played with. It’s a tad undersized and on top of that it is very light. There were a few specific things about this yoyo that kept it from being a five.

First off, the design of the yoyo is undersized. Usually I don’t mind undersized yoyos, but the width has to be wider so that you can grind easier and it also has to be heavy so that the yoyo doesn’t play as small as it actually is. So the diameter would be smaller but the width and weight would be generally the same. However on this yoyo, everything got smaller. The diameter, the width, and the weight. That made the yoyo a little to light and floaty. It would’ve been better if the yoyo was wider and heavier.

Another problem I had with this yoyo were grinds. Since the whole yoyo got smaller, the width was very narrow which made it a little difficult to do finger grinds. Also, since the face of the yoyo is glossy, the yoyo kept gripping my skin when I tried to do talon grinds. It would have been better if the whole yoyo had a mat finish instead of the main gap having a mat finish while the face of the yoyo was glossy.

So overall, I highly recommend this yoyo to any player who’s style is very floaty, players with small hands, and anyone who is willing to try something new.

Throw Score Yoyo Review Ep#14 – TopYo Impulse

In this episode of Throw Score I reviewed the TopYo Impulse.

After playing with the TopYo Impulse this throw has become one of my absolute favorites. I have yet to find any flaws in this yoyo. There are no parts of the design that interferes with grinds. The rim weight is evenly distributed and the yoyo has an even balance of a floaty to stable ratio, so it can handle speedy and techy tricks easily without a problem. This is definitely one of my favorite throws and I highly recommend it to everyone and all styles.

Throw Score Yoyo Review Ep#12 – YoyoRecreation Draupnir

In this episode of Throw Score I reviewed the YoyoRecreation Draupnir.

YoyoRecreation Draupnir at yoyobestbuy.com

YoyoRecreation Draupnir at yoyonation.com

After playing with this yoyo I’ve noticed that this yoyo is awesome at speed and horizontal. No wonder why when people mention speed they always mention the YoyoRecreation Draupnir. There were only a few specific things about this yoyo that kept it from being a 5/5 throw.

The main thing that I had a problem with was the finish on the yoyo. It felt too much like a chalk board, to the extent that if I did any grinds that involved my finger nails such as finger spins and talon grinds, it would leave either dust marks, or particles of my finger nail. It felt a little too much like a piece of furniture.

The second thing about this yoyo that kept it from being a 5/5 yoyo is that it tends to snag a lot more than usual compared to other throws that I’ve played with. So sometimes when I’m doing a very techy combo, sometimes it will unexpectedly bind or snag in the middle of a trick.

I would say that if you are a hard chore speed player such as Iori Yamaki or Yuki Nishisako, then I would recommend this yoyo.

Vlog#1 West Coast Yoyo Championship 2017

Instead of doing a trick compilation video or a lifestreams for trhis competition, I decided to be like Rowland Balcom and do a vlog!!!

In the beginning of the day, Hanz and I woke up at 3:00 AM and drove 6 hours all the way to Fontana. We arrived there 20 minutes early so we had to wait in the hot sun outside the venue where I got to see my yoyo friends again, including some members of the YoyoHypeSquad. When I walked into the venue, my heart stopped for a second once I saw the stage. It was unlike the stages for competitions that I’ve seen before. This was a real stage!!! The good news was I wouldn’t have to worry about outside weather while performing.

Speaking of performing, I ended up getting 24th place out of the 37 that competed in the 1a Pro Division which I was really happy about because I didn’t get last.

Did I mention that the YoyoHypeSquad made it’s first official appearance at the competition? If you wanna know which performance was the loudest, skip to the section where Evan Nagao performed.

Thank You so much to Tsai Ding (creator of TOPYO) for sponsoring me and paying my competition fee.

Yoyo Unboxing – MagicYoyo Metal Skyva

Alright guys it’s time to go through this cycle again!!! I just got a whole new batch of yoyos from yoyobestbuy and I’m ready to start unboxing and reviewing these bad boys. In this video I unboxed the new MagicYoyo Metal Skyva.

After playing with the MagicYoyo Metal Skyva, I can confidently say that this is   the best MagicYoyo that I’ve ever played with. It is dead smooth, it can hit all my tricks and combos consistently weather speed, tech, front, or horizontal, and since it’s metal not only is the finger spin amazing, but the rest of the grinds are amazing as well. Definitely a huge step up from the original MagicYoyo Skyva. Even though I haven’t done a Throw Score video yet, I can already tell that this is going to be a very high score.

Yoyo Unboxing – Sponsorship Package from TOPYO and YoyoNation Announcement. ft. HanzYoyo

In this video, I finally reveal my two big announcements I hinted in last week’s live videos.  As you already know I am an affiliate of YoyoBestBuy and Amazon.com both of which have supported me in growth over the last year.   I owe a lot specially to YoyoBestBuy who continues to partner and mentor me as I navigate this yo-yo world.

My 1st big announcement has to do with another affiliate, as of this week, I am also an affiliate of YOYONATION!

This means you will see banner ads on my website from YoyoNation as well as links to thier site from my videos of Yoyos I review for them.

The 2nd big announcement has to do with being sponsored.  Starting this week I am officially part of the TOPYO competitive team.

That means when I go on competitions, I will be repesenting the TOPYO yoyo brand.  This is quite exciting and a dream come true for me.

In the video, unboxing I showed the sponsorship package that came from TopYo, as well as the TopYo Empty featured below.
