After playing with the TopYo Impulse this throw has become one of my absolute favorites. I have yet to find any flaws in this yoyo. There are no parts of the design that interferes with grinds. The rim weight is evenly distributed and the yoyo has an even balance of a floaty to stable ratio, so it can handle speedy and techy tricks easily without a problem. This is definitely one of my favorite throws and I highly recommend it to everyone and all styles.
After playing with this yoyo I’ve noticed that this yoyo is awesome at speed and horizontal. No wonder why when people mention speed they always mention the YoyoRecreation Draupnir. There were only a few specific things about this yoyo that kept it from being a 5/5 throw.
The main thing that I had a problem with was the finish on the yoyo. It felt too much like a chalk board, to the extent that if I did any grinds that involved my finger nails such as finger spins and talon grinds, it would leave either dust marks, or particles of my finger nail. It felt a little too much like a piece of furniture.
The second thing about this yoyo that kept it from being a 5/5 yoyo is that it tends to snag a lot more than usual compared to other throws that I’ve played with. So sometimes when I’m doing a very techy combo, sometimes it will unexpectedly bind or snag in the middle of a trick.
I would say that if you are a hard chore speed player such as Iori Yamaki or Yuki Nishisako, then I would recommend this yoyo.
When I first pulled the yoyo out of the box, the plastic is not like any other plastic yoyo that I’ve owned before. I felt like a piece of furniture. The yoyo also had a string on it ready to cut to my own height, that’s a plus!!! When I first threw the yoyo, it had a tiny bit of vibration and wasn’t that good for finger grinds because of the bulgy shape, similar to the YoyoFactory Replay Pro and The YoyoFactory Aviator 1 and 2. Although, it can do finger spins pretty well because of the gift concave space on the face of the yoyo.
I was a little disappointed with the limited ability to grind, but the playability totally made up for that!!! The yoyo hit my tricks pretty well and overall it is a fun yoyo and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new.
