In this episode of Throw Score I reviewed the YoyoRecreation POM Draupnir.

In terms of playability this yoyo plays almost identical to the C3YoyoDesign Gamma Crash. It plays fast, it is very light, and it is good for horizontal play. The only difference between the two yoyos was the grinds.

The only score that was different than the Gamma Crash was the finger spin. pom The thumb grinds however is actually the same as the Gamma Crash. If that standard was in the Gamma Crash’s throw score, it wouldn’t have gotten a five so really the only difference is the finger spin. In the face of the yoyo there is a metal cylinder that sticks out from the center that makes your finger move around it rapidly which makes the finger spin very difficult.

Other than that this yoyo is awesome for speed and horizontal play.

Enjoy the review.

Yoyo Unboxing – YoyoRecreation POM Draupnir

In this video I unboxed the YoyoRecreation POM Draupnir.

The $90 POM Draupnir is basically the plastic version of the $200 Bi-metal draupnir. I personally like this yoyo better than the regular Draupnir because one, it’s cheaper, and two it is lighter (for speed) and smoother (for grinds) because of the delrim plastic.

As many of you might know, the C3YoyoDesign Gamma Crash is known as the “plastic Draupnir” but now since there is an ACTUAL plastic draupnir, how do they compare? These two throws are actually insanely similar. The only difference about these yoyos are the plastic and metal centers in the face of the yoyo, and the prices. Gamma Crash is $65 and the POM Draupnir is $90. The playabilities of these yoyos are almost identical as well. Both are very fast, light, good for horizontal, good for grinds, and they are both delrim plastic!!! If you want to know more about how I feel about this yoyo, just watch my unboxing and review of the Gamma Crash. I have the exact same feelings about both of these yoyos. That being said I really love this yoyo.

So if you want a draupnir but you don’t have the money but you want something equally as good or maybe even better, I highly recommend the YoyoRecreation POM Draupnir.

Enjoy the unboxing!!!

Throw Score Yoyo Review Ep#12 – YoyoRecreation Draupnir

In this episode of Throw Score I reviewed the YoyoRecreation Draupnir.

After playing with this yoyo I’ve noticed that this yoyo is awesome at speed and horizontal. No wonder why when people mention speed they always mention the YoyoRecreation Draupnir. There were only a few specific things about this yoyo that kept it from being a 5/5 throw.

The main thing that I had a problem with was the finish on the yoyo. It felt too much like a chalk board, to the extent that if I did any grinds that involved my finger nails such as finger spins and talon grinds, it would leave either dust marks, or particles of my finger nail. It felt a little too much like a piece of furniture.

The second thing about this yoyo that kept it from being a 5/5 yoyo is that it tends to snag a lot more than usual compared to other throws that I’ve played with. So sometimes when I’m doing a very techy combo, sometimes it will unexpectedly bind or snag in the middle of a trick.

I would say that if you are a hard chore speed player such as Iori Yamaki or Yuki Nishisako, then I would recommend this yoyo.
