As you can see from the pictures and in the video below, Ghost Hand Phoenix is a sticker less 3×3 speed cube.  It comes packaged in a solid cube box with complete solving tutorials in English and Chinese.

Right out of the box, the Phoenix felt fast and really easy to turn.  It is very loose and feels light in the hand.  I was excited to give it a solve to see how good the cube will respond.  So I decided to not just unbox the cube but also do an average of 5 solves right away.  Which yoyo will see in the video below.

Check out the unboxing video below and see my first impression of the Ghost Hand Phoenix by MagicYoyo.

Gans 356 Air from Amazon
In the video LorenzYo was editing a  yoyo tricks video.  When he surveyed the livestream viewers on what Yoyo Tricks and Yoyo Tutorials they want to see, they asked for him to solve a 3X3 cube.  He ended up using the 356 Air by Gans.

Check out what he got on his average of 5 solves in the video below:

Rubik’s Futuro Cube

A few weeks ago, I got an email from Scott Ramsey of Mind In Motion Games.  He introduced me to this cool new cube called Rubik’s Futuro Cube.  I did not know what it was so Scott shared with me the link to the website (http://www.futurocube.com).   I poked around the site to see what it was.  It turns out it is an interactive puzzle cube.

After a day or two, I received the cube in the mail and boy was I surprised as to what this thing can do.

The Futuro Cube is pretty cool,  It is an electronic cube and needs to be charged via USB charger.  It is however more than just a cube with lights.  The first time I plugged it in, it took a deep breath.  Really it did!  The cube has speakers so the interaction is both, visual and auditory.

Right out of the box it comes with 14 different games, including one that is pretty close to how you solve a regular 3×3 Rubik’s cube.  If you are into coding you can actually download a development kit that will allow you to program your own games.

Each of the games are scored depending on how far you go.  You can then upload your scores to with the online interface.  The cube can also interact with other cubes.  If a friend has a Futuro cube in close proximity, you can challenge each other via bluetooth.Game play ranges from simple to complex and has enough variability to give hours of fun.

But being a music guy, I specially liked the piano feature which I demonstrated and embelished in the video below 🙂

Rubiks Cube – Average of 5 Solves Dayan Zhanchi 3×3

It has been quite a while since I have exercised my speed cubing skills.  But I cannot forget where I started.  So here goes my first video of Average of 5 Solves since October 31, 2015.  Wow, it has been a while 🙂

In the last Average of 5 Solves video, I used the Moyu Weilong v.2.  My average was 17.49 seconds.  In this video I will be using the Dayan Zhanchi 3×3 cube seen below.

Let us see if I do better or worse.  I wonder how rusty I would be in doing this after a year and  4 months.
