Yoyo Review – TopYo Encores

23

Here are my thoughts on TopYo team member Chi Gaoyu‘s latest signature yoyo, the Encores.

Purchase the TopYo Encores HERE!

Diameter: 56.06 mm / 2.21 inches
Width: 43.55 mm / 1.71 inches
Gap Width: 4.69 mm / 0.18 inches
Weight: 66.67 grams
Bearing Size: Size C (.250 x .500 x .187)
Response: 19mm Slim Pad Size

The Encores is not too big and not too small, but it is a bit bulgy due to its plain organic shape. The anodization is similar to that of the YoyoRecreation Draupnir which is very thick, a bit rough, and very strong. The face of the yoyo is on the flatter side and is filled with laser engravings that shape the throw’s logo. The stainless steel rims on the side are very thick which give the yoyo A LOT of rim weight.

While in play, the yoyo itself is heavy, stable, and as I’ve said before, has A LOT of rim weight. So naturally, the yoyo has an extremely long spin time. The yoyo is very powerful which can be felt in every throw and can withstand very long, intricate, and complicated string tricks and combos. Since this yoyo is made for long-spin times, this design very conveniently has a very strong response system so that even when the yoyo is at a weak spin after a long combo, it will still bind very efficiently and very smoothly.

Due to this heavy weight however, you can’t really rip out a fast rail combo very efficiently without your arms getting tired from swinging it around so much. Also, the bulky organic shape along with the strong anodization and abundant laser engravings on the face of the yoyo, make it very difficult and inefficient to do proper grinds. However, the yoyo is actually still very smooth when it comes to horizontal combos. It tends to carry them out very smoothly due to the strong rim weight which keeps it from tilting.

Overall, the TopYo Encores is a very solid, long spinning, and stable yoyo that can handle very lengthy, intricate, and complicated combos. I definitely highly recommend it to the players who have a similar style with the qualities that cater well with this kind of throw.

Enjoy the video!!!

Yoyo Review – TopYo X UNPRLD Antidote

23

Here are my thoughts on the latest collaboration yoyo between TopYo and UNPRLD, the Antidote.

Purchase the TopYo X UNPRLD Antidote HERE!

Specifications:

Diameter: 56.40 mm / 2.22 inches
Width: 45.60 mm / 1.79 inches
Gap Width: 4.75 mm / 0.18 inches
Weight: 65 grams
Bearing Size: Size C (.250 x .500 x .187)
Response: 19mm Slim Pad Size

The Antidote has a very nice v-shape with slanted and thick rims which is very good for rim weight. The body has a very smooth plastic material which according to UNPRLD is made with injection molding. It is dead smooth out of the box and very good for normal finger grinds as well as flawless finger spins due to the concave metal finger spin dimple. The yoyo is neither too wide nor too narrow, but is just (baby bear) right.

While in play, the yoyo is very light, nimble, and fast. The thick rims keep the yoyo from tilting which makes it great for speed, hop, and horizontal tricks. For such a light yoyo it actually has a very good spin time and can very well hold it’s own for a wide variety of tricks and combos. For some players however, it might take some time to get used to controlling the yoyo if they’re used to the feel of mid-heavy weight throws.

Overall, this yoyo is an exceptionally good speedy-pocket throw and would highly recommend it to players who love to do fast and extreme hop combos. This throw is definitely one that everyone should have in their collection!

Yoyo Trick Tutorial – Toilet Paper Roll

23

Thus video is a tutorial on one of my favorite tricks, “Toilet Paper Roll”

The yoyo used in this video was the TopYo Silenus

I named this trick “Toilet Paper Roll” because it’s slacky like toilet paper and it has a roll just like what holds toilet paper together. In this tutorial, to make it easier to learn, majority of it is taught from my POV so you can see exactly how it’s supposed to look from your perspective.

There’s actually two alternate endings to this trick. The first ending is clearly taught in the video but the second ending is harder to explain. So if you want to learn the second ending, go check out YoYoJoe1’s tutorial on that specific green triangle.

After you learn the trick, add your own flare and variation to it and tag me on Instagram!!!

Enjoy the video!!!

Yoyo Review – SFyoyos Cadence

23

WASSUP Y’ALL!!! In this video, I reviewed Keiran Cooper’s signature yoyo, the SFyoyos Cadence.

Buy the SF Cadence here!

Visit the SFyoyos Website here!

I’ll keep this short and sweet. Three words. A, MA, ZING!!! Literally, this yoyo can handle almost any type of trick you can throw at with ease. While in play, it has a very nimble and bouncy feel, but still very stable. This yoyo can and will definitely hold it’s own and will not tilt at all. Very easily maneuverable and cooperative. The simple wide open shape makes it easy for tech, rejection, and slack tricks and it’s angularness makes it AWESOME for speed and overall extreme tricks, after all, that is what Keiran is known for.

All grinds on this yoyo are flawless. The open wing shape with the mat finish makes it perfect for regular finger grinds. The simple face con-caved into the center makes it great for finger spins. And the nice inner ledge makes it great for both talon and thumb grinds.

My only problem with this yoyo is that the response was a bit weak, even when I put new pads in, but maybe that’s just me, let me know.

Overall, this is an amazing mono-metal from SFyoyos and I highly recommend it if you have the $50 laying around.

ENJOY THE VIDEO!!!

Yoyo Review – SFyoyos Bliss CS

23

WASSUP Y’ALL ISS LORENZO!!! In this video I reviewed the SFyoyos Bliss CS

Visit the SFyoyos Website

Purchase the SFyoyos Bliss CS

Now before we get into the review, with this unfortunate sickness that is going around, I just want to remind everyone to please observe proper hygiene and to try your best to avoid unnecessary close contact with other people. Please stay clean, healthy, and safe. 🙂

With that being said, let’s get on with this review!

The Bliss CS by SFyoyos is the signature yoyo of Conor Seals and sub-signature of Paul Harness. Incase you didn’t know, Paul Harness’s signature yoyo is the original SF Bliss.

According to SF, this yoyo has been tweaked for Conor Seal’s style. The gap width has been shortened in width for snappier returns and added weight for extra power.

This yoyo (at least for me) is the ideal all around yoyo. The yoyo is powerful but not over powerful like a lot of the “speed” yoyos are nowadays. The yoyo’s weight feel is just a tad toward the lighter side but is definitely not a floaty yoyo. This light feel along with the rim weight on the rims makes this yoyo great for speedy and extreme tricks. It is also very stable to endure long tech combos. The designers also made sure that the gap width was just short enough in width so that the binds will snap at ease but will NOT SNAG. So you can still do an extreme catch bind AND do a very tech trick with no snag!!!

Grinds on this yoyo are amazing due to the simple design. The yoyo has a wide, smooth, and open V/H shape which is perfect for regular finger grinds. Finger spins are flawless because of the simple flat, con-caved center with no weird stubs. Talon grinds are flawless. Thumb grinds are okay but there is not really enough inner ledge to catch the yoyo on your thumb.

Overall, the SF Bliss CS is definitely an amazing throw and I highly recommend it.

Enjoy the video!!!

Okay so I know what you’re thinking. “Are you serious, an ASMR video???” Well these clips were supposed to be used for a different video but unfortunately I still do not have the audio I need for that video, but I won’t tell you what that video is yet incase it is still going to happen.

Anyways, I always found that the sound of a smooth spinning yoyo was satisfying. So here you go!!! A video of just yoyo tricks with no talking and no music.

HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

Yoyo Review – SF Yoyos Ceasefire

23

SUP Y’ALL!!! IN honor of my good friend Collin Ellingson going away to Paraguay for two years, I finally reviewed the yoyo I was supposed to review over a year ago (sorry SF), Collin and Alec Jones’s co-signature yoyo, the SFYoyos Ceasefire!!!

SF Ceasefire on SFyoyos.com

SF Ceasefire on YoyoExpert.com

The yoyo, while in play, has a very solid, heavy feel to it. It has a lot of well balanced rim weight along with a little bit of center weight. This makes the yoyo good for extremely techy and slacks tricks. This solid feel also makes the yoyo good for hoppy meta tricks (brentstoles, hooks, chopsticks, etc.). Considering Collin and Alec’s style, the design is perfect for these types of tricks.

All types of grinds execute very nicely with this yoyo. The wide and hollow shape along with the mat finish makes finger grinds very comfortable, balanced, and long lasting. Even though the stainless steel rings are on the inner rim of the face, talon and thumb grinds are surprisingly smooth on this yoyo considering how most inner rim bi-metal yoyos have a very glossy feel on the rings which make talon and thumb grinds feel unpleasant. Last but not least, finger spins are very nice on this yoyo as well.

Overall the SF Yoyos Ceasefire is a great yoyo for dense techy, slack, and meta style players and I highly recommend you add it to your yoyo collection.

Collin I wish you all the best and I hope to see you again in two years!!!

Enjoy the video!!!

Yoyo Review: MagicYoyo Z01 Focus

23

Sup y’all it’s Lorenzo!!! In this video I reviewed the new bi-metal from MagicYoyo, the Z01 Focus!!!

Purchase this yoyo on MagicYoyo’s Website

MagicYoyo on YoyoExpert.com

Now, this wouldn’t be a LorenzYo Cubing video without some comedy and entertainment!!! “What’s this video’s segment Lorenzo?” , WELL I’M GLAD YOU ASKED!!!

Before I tell you that, let me explain WHY I made this segment. So if you don’t already know, Youtube has created a new policy supposedly based on a federal law, which is kind of strange to me since they only created this policy NOW. But basically, this new policy enforces Youtubers to place either their WHOLE channel, or every individual video into either the “for kids” or the “for adults” category. Now you may be asking “what’s so wrong about that?”. Well in summary, only the “adult” content can make revenue while the “kid friendly” content can’t, which very much bothers me since most of the popular “adult” channels today support “youtube drama” and “beef” with others.

THIS BRINGS ME TO WHAT THE ENTERTAINMENT SEGMENT OF THIS EPISODE IS!!!

As a JOKE, I made parodies of TWO POLAR OPPOSITE shows on television and on the internet. The video starts off with a parody intro to one of the most beloved kid friendly shows on television, “Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood” which is TV Y7. THIS NEW show is called “A RAN DOM Neighborhood” which the intro indicates is TV MA, again as a JOKE, with Geoffery Quilates (RAN DOM 2) doing his version of the iconic Mr. Rodger’s change of clothes choreography. ALL MUSIC for this intro was arranged and recorded by us two.

Right after the intro is another parody segment of a typical “Filthy Frank style” video with Daniel Daligcon (RAN DOM 1) as the host doing his impression of him. If many of you don’t know, Filthy Frank is a very DANK and MEME-ish channel, definitely not for kids, but super funny (at least to me). Some of you may know him NOW as “Joji” since he is now currently a song artist.

After this long intro I FINALLY appear in this video. Before the actual review of the yoyo, I explain a little behind the scenes of the trick video I made for this yoyo. Basically, there was different audio (a different version/cover of “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish” to the original cut which actual went better to the video than what is out right now. But due to some copyright claims I had to change the audio which led to me having to go through the Youtube copyright claim dispute process, WHICH WORKED!!!

A N Y W A Y S, HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON THE MAGICYOYO Z01 FOCUS!!!

Purchase the Golden Bearing I used to replace this bearing on YoyoBestbuy

The MagicYoyoZ01 Focus is the latest bi-metal yoyo released in 2019 by the company. First off, this yoyo is INSANELY CHEAP for a bi-metal standing at only $39, but the quality definitely exceeds that price point.

This yoyo, by far, is my current all-time favorite MagicYoyo throw at the moment, it has even become my go-to pocket throw. Let me explain why!!!

First of all, in terms of playability and feel, the yoyo is definitely a tad more toward the lighter side(not too much), but the yoyo is not necessarily floaty. The stainless steel rims on the sides of the yoyo stabilize the spin which keeps it from being floaty. So what you have is a very nice all-around yoyo. Speed and horizontal are no problem and the comfortable even shape makes it great for rejections, tech, and slack.

The shape of this bi-metal is definitely one of my favorite shapes. Other yoyos with this shape are the YoyOfficer Rave, the Ozhiriz Sphinx, and the MagicYoyo Vulfgang.

Regular finger grinds are no problem. Talon grinds are great because the way this yoyo was designed, the bi-metal rims don’t go into the inner – face of the yoyo, so the inner – rims are smooth and anodized aluminum. Finger spins on the other hand are only okay since the yoyo has scratchy laser engravings on the face.

OVERALL, the MagicYoyo Z01 Focus is an almost perfect, cheap, all around yoyo that should be in everyone’s collection and I highly recommend it!!!

ENJOY THE VIDEO!!!

Yoyo Tricks – MagicYoyo Z01 Focus (ft. Bad Guy by Billie Ellish cover)

23

HA!!!!!! I TRICKED YOU!!! (you’ll understand if you got to this page via the actual video description.)

BUT ANYWAYS, In this video I showcased a choreographed routine (on yoyo of course) to a COVER of “Bad Guy” by Billie Ellish with the NEW MagicYoyo Z01 Focus.

Purchase this Yoyo on GoMagicYoyo.com

MagicYoyo on YoyoBestbuy

Now QUICK story. The original video had the “We Are Number One” edit version of the song. Somebody copyright claimed my video, and I should’ve expected it since it sounded so similar to the original. And so I tried picking something TOTALLY different. I chose a strings cover of Bad Guy(like violins and cellos) and edited the lyrics into it. It sounded totally weird, I actually kept the ending of the song in the final version, but I was SURE I wasn’t going to get claimed. And then guess what… YUP. So I once again went searching and found a MALE cover of the song, it sounded a lot different and was royalty free since it wasn’t the original, but it still got claimed. HOWEVER, the person who claimed it wasn’t the song writer, OR the person who sung the cover. And so I went through the whole dispute process on YouTube and stated that exact sentence. The next day I got an email from YouTube saying that the claimed released the claim!!!! Just thought I’d share that HAHA take from it what you please.

Anyways, make sure to also read and watch my review of this Yoyo(when it comes out). But I’ll tell you this, this yoyo BY FAR, is the best MagicYoyo throw that I’ve played with.

ENJOY THE VIDEO!!!

TopYo Button Unboxing and Review

23

In this video I unboxed and reviewed the TopYo Button yoyo.

Besides the review itself, this video features Hanz Kel Zsanthalian better known as HanzYoyo. Since many viewers enjoyed the skit from the MagicYoyo Aurora Unboxing and Review I decided to compose another small skit into this video, not as long a storyline as the previous one though haha. The short skit shows me kidnapping Hanz for a video which then leads to a short trick dump, comic like, themed yoyo exhibition featuring tricks from Hanz and I featuring the song Homocide by Logic and Eminem.

Okay, now on to the actual review itself.

The TopYo Button is a Hybrid yoyo with rounded, hollow, plastic rims and an aluminum center on which the bearing resides. This soft, rounded feel makes it very comfortable to hold in your hand. The yoyo has a generally large diameter with a width that is neither too wide or too narrow. These traits allow the yoyo to be exceptionally good at regular finger grinds except for thumb, talon, and horizontal finger spin grinds due to the face of the yoyo being absolutely flat with zero concave.

In terms of playability, the yoyo is definitely on the floatier side, not too much but still more floaty than stable. However, the yoyo has very nice rim weight that gives it a lot of spin power. While in play you can definitely feel the weight focused on the rims with a little bounciness which gives it that bouncy feel. Due to these traits the yoyo holds up long, intricate, tricks and combos very well whether it be tech, speed, meta you name it. The only style of trick that the yoyo doesn’t perform too well in is very rough and fast horizontal combos. So if you are an extreme speed player that does zoomy fast horizontal tricks, this yoyo is probably not for you, however the yoyo handles regular speed combos just fine.

Overall the TopYo Button is a floaty, powerful, fun hybrid yoyo that has become one of my definite favorite TopYo throws and I highly recommend it as a must have to your yoyo collection.

Enjoy the video!!!
